Department Description:
The Department of Surgery and Theriogenology comprises staff members engaged in teaching surgery, anesthesiology, diagnostic imaging (radiology and sonography), female fertility and reproductive diseases, male fertility and artificial insemination, obstetrics, surgery, and the theriogenology clinic.
Department Vision:
The Department of Surgery and Theriogenology’s vision is to impart superior expertise in veterinary anesthesia, diagnostic imaging, theriogenology, management, and animal science. Along with that, it carries out research in these areas. The department serves as a teaching, research, and diagnostic center that provides cutting-edge services to the educational, livestock, and public health sectors of society, which is our institution’s ultimate goal.
Department Mission:
Producing highly skilled professionals in surgery, radiology, and theriogenology is one of the department’s primary goals. This is accomplished by providing undergraduate and postgraduate students with lectures, practical training, and opportunities to participate in experiments. Additionally, research is an integral aspect of the activities above. We strive to provide undergraduate and postgraduate veterinary surgery training and research facilities and diagnostic, preventative, and public health services to livestock producers, pet and companion animal owners, field veterinarians, and the general public.
Learning Outcomes at Department:
By the end of the courses, students will learn to use different diagnostic tools, such as x-ray, ultrasonography, and endoscopy, as well as how to prepare for and perform surgery on small and large animals. On the other hand, the courses will teach students how to manage insemination, breeding, and controlling reproductive diseases.
Department Study Methods:
The study methods depend on theoretical and practical lectures, and the assessment is achieved via two midterm and final exams, essays, and reports.

The language of instruction at the college is English for all courses.
Duration of Studies:
The college study duration is five academic years of full-time study.
